Jewellery care
All of A Reverent Life’s jewellery is made from Australian recycled sterling silver and recycled 9 carat gold. Each piece is handmade and precious so care should be taken when wearing so as to avoid knocking or catching.
Please see below on how to care for each precious metal.
sterling silver
Sterling silver jewellery can be scratched or bent out of shape if force is applied. Sterling silver can also be damaged and become tarnished by contact with chemicals found in many household cleaners, cosmetics, perfumes and hair care products. Avoid putting any chemicals on your jewellery that will cause tarnishing.
If tarnishing occurs clean with a polishing cloth, pad or polishing compound. You can also avoid tarnish by wearing your jewellery often as the oils in your skin keep the silver looking shiny.
DIY Natural silver cleaning tip:
You will need 2 parts water to 1 part baking soda.
Stir into a paste. Use an old toothbrush to apply in circular motion. Rinse with warm water then pat dry.
9 carat gold
9ct gold does not tarnish as easily as sterling silver however, to avoid any chance of tarnish or harming of stones, and pearls, remove your jewellery when using detergents or chemicals. If tarnishing occurs clean with a polishing cloth, pad or polishing compound.
